Brief analysis the problems encountered in the release film during the die-cutting process

1. After double-sided bonding with PET release film, some double-sided tapes may experience reverse peeling and make strange noises during peeling.

2. Anti stripping means that the material to be stripped has not been stripped.

3. After being cut and left for a period of time, the tape and release film cannot be peeled off.

4. The release force of the release film is very low, and it feels like the release layer is easily detached.

5. The release film will generate static electricity and absorb dust during the winding process.

For the above issues, there are usually the following solutions:

1. Noise occurs during peeling, firstly due to excessive release force, and secondly due to uneven coating.

2. Anti stripping is mainly caused by an unsatisfactory combination of release forces, for two reasons:

Firstly, the factory inspection of release film is not strict, the inspection equipment is incomplete, and the production process is not stable enough, resulting in significant differences in release force between products of the same model. As a result, the die-cutting factory used what they thought was a release film due to usage habits.

Secondly, the weather resistance of the release layer is insufficient and has undergone significant changes over time.

3. After being attached to the tape, it cannot be peeled off, usually due to uneven coating. Some release films with severe leakage may cause a certain part to have no release effect, resulting in the tape being unable to peel off. This problem should be avoided in round knife die-cutting.

4. The greasy release surface is mainly caused by the system of release agents, and it is not necessarily that greasy things are bad. In fact, some greasy release film surfaces are coated more evenly and have better residual adhesion rates. But some are purely due to poor adhesion, and silicone oil is prone to detachment. These can all be determined through detection.

5. Static electricity problems are usually treated permanently through chemical means in addition to physical methods. Generally, photoelectric grade die-cutting factories have dust-free workshops and anti-static equipment, so the problem is not significant. For those with strict requirements, anti-static coated release films can be chosen.
